The object is a distillation module set which allows one to create fully professional rectification column. By using all parts included in the set, one can obtain a product with a concentration of 96% during a whole process of rectification which means that the quality exceeds the spirit industry standards. It becomes unnecessary to use the final purification methods such as sodium, potassium permanganate or charcoal filters. The modules are connected via tube couplings thanks to which one can assemble the whole set in only 5 minutes. The sets boasts its high mobility and the longest unit does not exceed 60 cm. The head project is based on a Nixon-Stone Head model with the possibility of receiving both LM and VM systems. It is gaining increasing popularity among distillation sets due to its functionality. Nevertheless, it is not widely used since its complicated structure and difficulty in proper workmanship. The main condenser is an acid-resistant corrugated spiral of 3 meters length due to which construction the usage of cooling water is reduced to minimum. Since the head is an open system it does not create pressure that can be dangerous. There is possibility of removing the condenser, the lid is not welded on which helps to remain high standards of cleanliness. The vapors condensed on the spiral in the baffle plates system drip back to LM receiving point forming a lake with a capacity of about 5 ml. The capacity of the lake should be as small as possible as it is responsible for the precise reception of the individual fractions. The overflow of condensate is drained to the center of the packaging. The LM system is ended with a needle valve by which the amount of received distillate can be controlled. The valve applied in the head is of the highest quality, specially designed for the rectifying column, appreciated by professionals. However, the price is too high for some and therefore they are using cheaper substitutes. In the dual-mode LM/VM head the ML system is used to collect forerunnings, tail fractions and all taste variations, while the VM system it used to receive an actual rectified spirit. While receiving forerunnings the VM system is closed which allows to preserve the cleanness of the system and guarantees of receiving the perfect product in the first run. In the special mounting in the head there is installed a thermometer sensor. Besides its aesthetic design it protects the probe from slipping by adjusting the silicone gasket holding. The thermometer mounted in the head is for illustrative purpose, therefore one shall not run the rectification process on its basis. The explanation will be presented in the following description.
The annealing borosilicate sight – glass is of 95mm. By using the sight – glass one can monitor the rectification process and has a possibility of selecting the heat power in order to work under the flooding threshold. The flooding threshold is a state during which the packing parameters are used maximally thank to which one can gain the highest quality distillate. Increasing of a power will result in flooding of the packaging (boiling of the liquid in the sight glass). The optimal operating range is about 300W, thus this number shall be subtracted from the flooding threshold without losing of packaging parameters characteristics. At each process the power of liquid will differ slightly, therefore it is extremely important to monitor the initial power parameters via sight-glass. Further adjustment, which will occur during the process, will be relying on determining the quantity of rectified spirit.
Specially constructed silicon gasket protects the side and the bottom of the glass and preserves it from damage.
The rectification part is constructed from two module of 50cm length connected by tube coupling. The package constitute acid-resistant stainless steel rings which is the best column packing on the market.
The first module is permanently connected with the sight-glass. At 40cm distance from the packaging upper limit there is placed a temperature sensor. The measurement here is the main distillation indicator. After a period of stabilization and forerunnings reception, it is to move to the proper reception. The temperature on the packaging thermometer one is to take as the day temperature. It will be stable for the most of the process time and any temperature increase shall be corrected by reducing of distillate reception velocity.
In case of both parts of the rectification modules there is applied acid-resistant ring support which is secured via quick disassembly clip. There is no concern regarding transportation of the particular elements or packaging spill out. In case of packaging exchanging one is to pull out the clip and in a few seconds the packaging lands in a container.
The container of 50 litres capacity. At the lowest point it is equipped with a liquid outlet, intake and thermometer which is used to keg temperature monitoring. The packaging temperature allows to determine the initial liquid concentration and it gives an information about upcoming distillation end. On the ground of that, one can correct reception velocity without waiting for destabilization of the thermometer in the bed. The container is designed to be powered by a heater. The acid-resistant heater is attached to the set.
The height of the column after assembly does not exceed 2.5m.
